Here’s a little more about how it works. Almost all modern engines use a fuel injection system to deliver fuel directly into the engine’s combustion chamber. Delivering fuel this way improves efficiency, which means fewer emissions and better fuel economy.
Engine tuning today is done automatically by the engine management system, which controls the fuel and air ratio through the fuel injection system.
Modern Engine Fuel Injectors
Because of where fuel injectors sit on a modern engine, they get heat soak when the engine is switched off. The heat makes fuel evaporate at the injectors, leaving gum, varnish and tar deposits around the injector nozzles. Together with carbon build-up from poorer quality fuels, these deposits upset the injector spray pattern and in some cases block the injectors completely.
Servicing injectors used to mean removing them, which is time-consuming and costly. Regular cleaning of the fuel rail and injectors removes these deposits without that work, and that’s where the Fortron Max injector cleaning system comes in.
