Getting your car through its MOT can be stressful enough. Have the testers been fair? Would your car have passed elsewhere? Is it safe to drive?
If you get your MOT here at Childwall Fiveways Garage, that isn’t an issue, as our MOT testers are experienced and fair. But if you’ve taken your car to another garage and it has failed, you could be staring down an expensive repair bill.

What Do I Need to Do?
Simply bring us your MOT failure sheet and let us know the quote you’ve had for the repairs, if you have one. Our team will work with you on a quote that hopefully beats it. You won’t have to pay for a new test either: you’ll have 7 days from the date of your test to bring your car back for a free retest.
What If The Garage Has Got My MOT Failures Wrong?
We’ll go over your failures with you before we carry out any repairs. If anything has failed that perhaps shouldn’t have, we’ll tell you. MOTs are partly subjective, as the guidelines ask for the tester’s opinion on how worn certain items are. That means a harsh tester may fail things that should probably pass, especially at larger chains where staff are encouraged to err on the side of caution.
If we find items that would pass with us, we’ll sit down with you and talk it through. We can often carry out the repairs that are genuinely needed and leave the work that would pass. We’ll then carry out a brand new MOT and your car will pass first time. You’ll pay us for a new MOT, but you could save hundreds of pounds on unnecessary repairs.
